It looks like Daley vs. Diaz is now official and will probably go down April 9th

Now that Paul Daley has sent the DEEP welterweight champion, Yuya Shirai, astral traveling to the same realm that Semtex sent Dustin Hazelett to at UFC 108, it appears that Paul Daley has earned his title shot against Nick Diaz which is rumored to happen April 9th in Oakland, California. The BAMMA 5 bout was originally scheduled to be for the BAMMA welterweight title, but Daley missed weight by roughly a half pound, relegating the fight to a non-title, three round bout. Fortunately for Daley, he only needed 1:46 to finish Shirai with a brutal punch followed by a short flurry of ground strikes that ended Shirai's consciousness and his five-fight winning streak. It was a result that we pretty much expected, and according to Scott Coker, the win has earned Daley a spot on the April 9th show in California which will also include Kawajiri vs. Gilbert Melendez.
If you were expecting the second part of the Strikeforce Grand-Prix to go down on April 9th, you're not the only one. It looks like the second bracket of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand-Prix will happen on June 18th in the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX. This card will not only feature Overeem vs. Werdum and Barnett vs. Rogers, but it looks like Gina Carano, King Mo and possibly Herschel Walker will be competing in the event. Amazing, if true. Exclusive BAMMA 5 cage-side gallery coming soon from MiddleEasy, so hold on to your imaginary horses.
