After an unbeaten amateur run, Colt Toombs will make his professional amateur debut on Thursday night in an undercard bout during a Tachi Palace Fights card in Leemore, Calif.

Toombs is the son of former professional wrestling great "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

A member of Team Quest, the 20-year-old Toombs went 4-0 in amateur competition as a featherweight, winning twice by TKO, once by submission and once by decision. His last amateur bout was last October.

In his pro debut, he'll face Art Becerra, who is 1-1 and last fought in Sept. 2008.

In a pre-fight interview with Shoot Media, Toombs said that growing up the son of a wrestling legend had its negatives, but overall, the plusses far outweigh them.

"As a kid, a lot of people wanted to fight Roddy Piper's son and test their manhood, so I got in a lot of scuffles as a kid," he said. "It wasn't the easiest life, but I got a lot of cool perks from it. Got to go to a lot of cool places, meet a lot of cool people. He's a wonderful father. I got three sisters, a mother, and they've been married 27 years now. So I've got a great family and I couldn't ask for more."

Also on the Tachi Palace Fights card is a bout pitting Jeff Bedard vs. Cole Escovedo for bantamweight title, as well as separate bouts featuring former UFC fighters Hector Ramirez and Gabe Ruediger.
